Bored youngsters with nothing to do during the school holidays can join up to an activity scheme.
‘The Zone’ will be running at St Martin’s School from 12pm to 3pm every weekday from Monday July 19 to Friday August 13.
Anyone aged between 11 and 16 and from the Caerphilly and Bedwas areas can attend.
PCSO Iwan Adams from the Caerphilly Neighbourhood Policing Team has been working with the Manager of Caerphilly Leisure Centre John Poyner to set up the scheme.
Staff from Sport Caerphilly and Trecenydd Communities First will be helping to run activities.
The scheme has been funded by Safer Caerphilly Community Safety Partnership and Caerphilly Town Council.
Funding for the scheme is being provided by Caerphilly Town Council, with the Safer Caerphilly Community Safety Partnership also providing funding for some of the activities.
The activities on offer include swimming, football, dance, cycling, arts and crafts, dodge ball, and much more.
St Martins PCSO Iwan Adams, said: “We wanted to provide somewhere to allow them to hang out with their friends and take part in organised activities.
“A wide range of activities will be held over the weeks, so hopefully there will be something for everyone. Neighbourhood officers will also be visiting the scheme to interact with the young people, and help them get to know their local officers.”
Councillor Stephen Kent, Caerphilly Town Council Mayor, said: “We are delighted to be associated with this exciting new scheme that offers local youngsters the opportunity to engage in a range of activities that will keep them occupied and allow them to learn new skills.”
