Pupils from Blackwood Primary School have visited the Senedd and decorated a Christmas tree that will be displayed on the Assembly’s estate.

The pupils were given the theme What does Christmas Mean to You? and asked to hand-make the decorations.

The school is one of five from different areas in Wales that have visited the Assembly and decorated a tree over the festive period.

The pupils also received a tour of the Senedd and met with the Presiding Officer, Rosemary Butler AM.

Ms Butler said: “I am delighted to welcome the pupils from Blackwood Primary School today to put their own stamp on our Christmas celebrations here at the Senedd.

“It is wonderful for young children to come to the Senedd, the home of decision-making in Wales, and add a little festivity to this iconic building. “Trees decorated by pupils across Wales will be on display on the Assembly estate, so Assembly Members and the wider public will all enjoy their hard work.”
