Work to flatten buildings in Bargoed’s Hanbury Road to make way for a new retail development is well under way.
The town’s library along with twelve other properties are being demolished as part of the scheme.
The demolition has been funded by Caerphilly County Borough Council and the Heads of the Valleys Programme, which is a 15 year regeneration strategy by the Welsh Assembly.
Although the library building is being demolished, the council is keen to stress the library service is still available and has moved to a temporary home in St Gwladys Church Hall in Church Place.
