Don’t forget to register for your Welsh Assembly vote

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 17:00, Wednesday April 13th, 2011.

Voters have until 5pm Thursday April 14 to register to vote or to apply for a postal vote for the upcoming Assembly elections on May 5.

Caerphilly’s Labour candidate Jeff Cuthbert has urged voters not to forget the deadline and ensure that they will be eligible to decide the future of Wales for the next five years.

Mr Cuthbert said: “Voting is extremely important, it is a right and a privilege which many people fought for over decades. I would encourage everyone to come out and make their choice about the future they want to see for Wales, either by post or at the polls, on May the 5

“Obviously as a candidate I would be pleased if you voted for me, but what is more important is that your voice is heard within your democracy.”

Caerphilly candidates are: Jeff Cuthbert (Labour), Kay David (Lib Dem), Ron Davies (Plaid Cymru) and Owen Meredith (Conservative)

Islwyn candidates are: David Chipp (Conservative), Steffan Lewis (Plaid Cymru), Gwyn Price (Labour), Tom Sullivan (Lib Dem)

For voters living in Caerphilly County Borough, forms can be found www.caerphilly.gov.uk. Alternatively people can call Electoral Services on 01443 864203 or electoralservices@caerphilly.gov.uk
