More than 2,500 people applied for 350 jobs at the new 24-hour Tesco supermarket in Risca.
Tesco Extra, situated on the former foundry site off Newport Road, is due to open on December 6.
A further 80 jobs will be available in the New Year when the supermarket giant starts its online ordering service from the store.
People interested in applying should visit the Tesco recruitment centre on Brookland Road, Risca.
The new 80,000 sq ft Tesco Extra will have a 761-space car parking spaces, a drop off point for buses, a petrol station, footbridge and riverside walkway.
The firm is also due to open a Tesco Express store in the old Palace Cinema in Tredegar Street – which was part of the planning agreement for the larger store.
