Motorists in Bargoed warned to keep items out of view

Motorists in St Cattwg, Bargoed, have been warned about an increase in car break-ins and damage to vehicles.

Vehicles with valuable items left in full view have been targeted – in particular around the Gelligaer area.

PCSO Neville Davies said: “When on patrol, I see far too many vehicles with valuables on view such as CDs, money, mobile phones, SatNavs and coats left on rear seats.

“Such items are tempting to opportunist thieves. We want to encourage drivers, especially during the Christmas period that when cars are filled with gifts and shopping, not to leave items visible in the car and boot and if you can, take your belongings with you.”

If you have information about car crime in the area, or have concerns, contact Bargoed Neighbourhood Policing Team on 02920 857 455.
