Government officials from Croatia are visiting Caerphilly County Borough today to learn about the area’s successful regeneration schemes.
The group of 20 officials will visit projects at Tredomen Business Park near Ystrad Mynach and the Winding House Museum in New Tredegar as part of a Wales-wide tour organised by the Welsh Local Government Association.
Councillor Ron Davies, cabinet member for regeneration, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming our colleagues from Croatia and hope we can all benefit from our shared experiences and build new links for the future.
“The council is proud of its regeneration success stories here in the county borough and we hope this success can be replicated in other regions in the future.”
The five day tour will see the party visit various locations across Wales, although the group will be in Caerphilly County Borough only for today.
During their stop at Tredomen Business Park the group will receive a presentation showing how the site has been transformed over recent years using European Objective One money.
At New Tredegar the group will visit the recently opened Winding House Museum and enjoy lunch in the community café at White Rose Community Centre.
Both schemes have also been part funded by Objective One funding.
