Christopher Morgan, 28, died after being involved in an accident in Lower Machen

Tributes have been paid to a 28-year-old Nelson man who was killed in a road accident on Sunday.

The crash happened on Sunday May 27 at 4.25pm on the A468, Lower Machen and involved a camper van and a motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, Christopher Morgan aged 28 from Nelson, was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport with serious injuries where he later died.

In a statement, Mr Morgan’s family paid tribute to him.

It read: “Chris was a loving, bubbly character who lived everyday to the full. He will be sorely missed by friends and family. He has left a huge hole in the lives of so many but will live on in our hearts forever.

“Chris was an absolute legend.”

The road was temporarily closed while emergency services attended and vehicles recovered. The occupants of the camper van were uninjured.

Any witnesses are asked to call the Collision Investigation Unit on 01633 643091.
