Trinity Fields School pupils put on a show to remember

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 13:32, Friday June 22nd, 2012.

A talented group of students from Trinity Fields School in Ystrad Mynach have been busy putting on a show.

Award-winning theatre company Circus Berzercus performed their family show “A Komedy of Errors” at the school hall on Wednesday.

The event was organised by the Trinity Fields Young Promoters with the help of Gwent Police and the Night Out scheme from the Arts Council of Wales.

Over a series of weekly workshops, the youngsters have been learning all about organising an arts event including setting ticket prices and start times, designing posters, raising sponsorship and marketing and promoting the show.

The project is part of Gwent Police’s successful “Making a Difference” project which has been running in Caerphilly County for around five years and aims to help build relationships between local officers and their communities.

As part of project the Gwent Police Armed Response Unit and Dog Unit will also be visiting the school for a workshop session.

Chris Smith who’s a Special Inspector with Gwent police commented: “Thanks to the organisational skills and dedication of the students, it was a fantastic night. I must commend them for the time effort and commitment they’ve put into this project.”
