A ten-year-old pupil is helping to tackle problem parking outside her school gates after winning a poster competition.

Molly Thomas, of Glyngaer Junior School, scooped first prize in the design competition organised by Gwent Police and the Bargoed and District Crime Prevention Panel.

Molly’s winning poster is now visible outside her school warning parents not to park.

It is also on display in several shops and busineses in the areas.

PC Andy Green, ward officer for Gelligaer, said: “It is great that the winner of this competition will be able to see their own poster displayed outside their school, in local shops, as well as community buildings around the Bargoed area.

“This is the first year we have run the competition and it has proved so successful that we plan to run similar competitions in the near future – We’d like to thank all the pupils for taking part.”
