Budding entrepreneurs put their money-making skills to excellent use recently when they raised over £400 for a national children’s charity.

The BTEC National Diploma in Business students from Coleg Gwent’s Crosskeys Campus organised and took part in bag packing for customers at Tesco in Risca to raise money for the Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) charity.

Students chose to fundraise for the charity as part of their Key Skills qualification, and raised £436.43 over the space of a few hours in the store.

Tutor Joanne Mulcahy said: “The event was a great success, raising money and awareness for the excellent work of the Great Ormond Street Hospital.

“The money will make a huge difference to many lives, and will go towards hospice care for incredibly sick children and their families. Thank you to everyone who donated to Coleg Gwent students.”
