A man has been fined by magistrates for smashing a shop door panel in Caerphilly town centre.

Scott Ackland, 20, of Graham Court, Lansbury Park, admitted a charge of Criminal Damage at Caerphilly Magistrates’ Court on August 16 and was fined £110.

The court was told that Ackland damaged a glass panel in the shop door of Select Fashion, on Cardiff Road, on July 28 this year.

As well as the fine, he was ordered to pay £200 compensation to the shop, a £15 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs. Magistrates told him he had until August 30 to pay the total of £410.
