A Graig-Y-Rhacca man who was wanted for failing to answer bail has appeared before magistrates and admitted drugs and weapon charges.

Gary Davies, 29, of Longfellow Gardens, Graig-Y-Rhacca, was accused of possessing 26g of amphetamine, 1.5g of cannabis resin, and pepperspray (Capsaican Spray) on June 15, 2012, in Caerphilly.

He was due to attend Caerphilly Magistrates’ Court to answer bail on August 23 but failed to appear.

On August 28, Davies finally appeared before magistrates and admitted the three charges against him.

He also admitted a fourth charge in connection to hi non-appearance first time around.

He was given unconditional bail and will appear before the court again on September 19 for a Drug Rehabilitation Requirement assessment.

  • Update on September 3, 2012: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated that Gary Davies was remanded in custody. Caerphilly Observer apologises for this error.
