News | Richard Gurner | Published: 13:00, Tuesday November 6th, 2012.

A Caerphilly man who was twice over the drink drive limit has been banned from driving for three years.

Carl James Silcox, 34, of Dol Yr Eos, Mornington Meadows, was breathalysed near his home on July 27 this year.

Silcox’s case was heard at Caerphilly Magistrates’ Court on October 31.

Magistrates heard that Silcox’s breathalyser test recorded 75mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mg.

He was banned from driving for three years and ordered to go on a drink drivers’ course. He was also ordered to go on an alcohol dependency treatment course and to pay prosecution costs of £85.
