Teenagers have been warned to be on their guard after reports of a man driving around Caerphilly County Borough trying to entice young girls into his car.

Calls have been received reporting the car being driven around the Blackwood, Bargoed, Aberbargoed, Abercarn and Fleur-dy-Lys areas.

The car, which is stolen, is a silver Vauxhall Astra, registration KC03JSZ.

None of the incidents have resulted in anyone getting into the car as the girls approached ignored the driver and walked away.

Investigations are underway and patrols have been increased in the areas where the vehicle has been spotted.

Bargoed Neighbourhood Inspector Fran Richley said: “Residents should be reassured that we are taking these reports very seriously and we are conducting enquiries in the area to locate the vehicle concerned and the person responsible.

“I would emphasise to children and teenagers not to enter an unknown vehicle under any circumstances and if they are approached by a stranger asking them to enter a vehicle to tell a parent or teacher straight away.”
