Connie Fisher launches ‘Ty Coffee’ in Oakdale

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 12:40, Friday November 30th, 2012.

West End stage star and TV personality Connie Fisher is to open a new café in Oakdale on Saturday December 1.

The singer will be helping to launch Ty Coffee on the Square at 11am and will also be launching her new jewellery range and signing autographs.

The new café is the brainchild of police officer Alexandra Jones.

When she saw a shop on the Square in Oakdale come up for rent, Alex jumped at the opportunity to start her own business and open a coffee shop.

The police officer sought help from Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Business Enterprise Support Team which pointed her in the right direction for funding and business plan help.

BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing star Kristina Rhianoff will also be at Ty Coffee on December 16 for a calendar signing between 2pm and 4pm.
