A hair salon in Ystrad Mynach has been placed second in a national bridal make over competition.

Spirit Hair, in Ystrad Mynach, entered Britain’s Best, a competition run by National Hairdressing Federation, last month at the Birmingham NEC Hilton Metropole Hotel.

The day of intense competition saw hairdressers from across the UK compete for the coveted Britain’s Best title in 11 categories.

The six competition categories were decided by a text vote of people attending the Birmingham event as well as a practical demonstration of skills.

Lisa Arkley Davies, salon manager at Spirit Hair won second Prize in The British Bride 2012.

The National Hairdresser’s Federation is the biggest salon trade association in the industry.
