Caerphilly County Borough Council and Caerphilly Business Forum have recruited an apprentice who will work for both organisations.

Sonam Patel is the latest recruit through the council’s apprenticeship scheme and will split her time between Caerphilly Business Forum and the council’s marketing and events team.

The shared appointment, the two organisations have claimed, will continue to strengthen the links between two.

Cllr Ken James, cabinet member for regeneration, planning and sustainable development, said: “We are delighted to welcome Sonam to Caerphilly County Borough Council. We already have a very busy events programme and look forward to continuing to run joint business events with the Caerphilly Business Forum and give Sonam the valuable experience that she needs.”

Tony Sheehan, chair of Caerphilly Business Forum, said: “We’re sure that Sonam will be an asset to the Business Forum and we will help her to gain the knowledge needed for a successful career in the events industry. We have a growing membership and she will be able to help us to continue to be the leading networking and voice for the business community in the area. Our busy events programme culminates in the Caerphilly Business Awards in November.”
