Tidy job for Ty Sign Primary School

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 14:53, Friday October 2nd, 2009.

Ty Sign Primary SchoolPupils from Ty Sign Primary School have been working hard by helping to clear litter and spruce up a derelict patch of land in Ty Sign with some wildlife friendly plants.

The youngsters worked alongside officers from Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Councillor Lyn Ackerman, cabinet member for the environment, said: “I would like to say a very big thank you to the children of Ty Sign Primary School for helping us to make their local environment an even more pleasant place to live, work and go to school.

“By encouraging children from a young age to look after their environment, I strongly believe that we are helping to create a culture of pride and ownership of our streets and the wider community, which can only help in our quest for an even cleaner, greener Caerphilly county borough.”

The tidy up was part of Keep Wales Tidy Week.
