A partnership agreement between several public bodies working in Caerphilly County Borough has been renewed.
Called the Compact agreement, it sets out guidelines on how all parties should work together until 2017.
First established in 1999, the current Compact partners include Caerphilly County Borough Council, Gwent Police, Aneurin Bevan Health Board, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service and Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisations (GAVO). These organisations have also, for the first time, been joined by Community and Town Councils and Caerphilly Business Forum. The Gwent Police and Crime Commissioner Office has also entered into the agreement for the first time, having replaced the former Gwent Police Authority.
Council leader Harry Andrews said: “Voluntary and community Sector organisations make a vital contribution to public service delivery across our county borough.
“This important agreement will undoubtedly help continue to strengthen the links between key statutory organisations and the voluntary and community sector – we are all working towards achieving common goals with the overall aim of enriching the lives of everyone in Caerphilly County Borough.”

Who exactly are these organisation?, and, who are the the voluntary groups Harry lauds?
Gwent Police – Hardly.
Gwent Police Commissioner – Ditto.
Caerphilly Business Forum – I don`t think so.
Caerphilly County borough council – This is deffo not a voluntary
organisation by any measure
whatsoever, no-one does
anything for nothing here?.
GAVO – Again no-one does anything voluntarily in this
organisation, however, it is probably the only
partner mentioned by Harry A which knows anything
about the actual groups who do the volunteering.
How about the council lists all those genuine voluntary bodies which make up the citizens of the Borough who really, "achieve common goals with the overall aim of enriching the lives of everyone in Caerphilly County Borough.” Enough about the Burghers of the borough, and, blowing their own trumpets, give some recognition to the many thousands of residents of the borough who do the actual volunteering which the above statutory groups appears to want to heavily rely upon to `achieve common goals of enriching peoples lives`.
Co-operation should not stop at the borough boundary. What about Blaenau Gwent social services ?
