A man has suffered minor cuts and bruises after an explosion at a two-storey house in Gelli Gaer Road, Cefn Hengoed.
Emergency services were called out at around 8.30am on Thursday with three fire engines attending.
Gwent Police said the explosion was small and a small fire in the lounge was extinguished successfully.
