Tributes paid to Abertridwr crash victim

Tributes have been paid to well-known valleys man killed in a motorcycle crash.

David Furness, 34, of Abertridwr, who was known as Hovis, died on Saturday October 3 in the smash on the A40 trunk road in Tafarn Newydd, Llandovery.

Mr Furness was sadly pronounced dead at the scene after his yellow Honda Fireblade motorbike was in a collision with a Ford Focus.

A tribute page has already been set up on Facebook and has attracted more than 500 members.

Natalie Thomas-Scammell wrote: “R.I.P Hovis. What a gr8 fella. U’ll b sadly missed by all and not forgotten!
Just cant believe it, Why such a lovely & caring person taken from us!!
“Sleep tight xxx”

Margaret Ball wrote: “You will be sadly missed by so many people. You will never know just how much you have left a big hole in the Aber Valley my thoughts are with your mam R.I.P Hovis xxxx”

    Over the last 18 months I had the great pleasure to have ridden with David . He was a very approachable character and very well liked by many people , It`s an honour and a privelage to have known him for the short time that I did . My condolences to his Family and Close Friends .
