Winding House Museum’s appeal for new exhibition

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 10:00, Thursday November 7th, 2013.

The Winding House Museum in New Tredegar is appealing to people to help with a major new exhibition planned for 2014.

Next year marks the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War and the planned exhibition will focus on how the War affected men, women and children in Caerphilly County Borough.

The museum is calling on local people who might have stories or information to share, or objects, photographs or documents relating to the First World War period that they would be willing to loan or donate for the exhibition.

The museum is looking for any objects, documents or photographs relating to the period in the county borough – not just depicting life of family members who served in the armed forces but also stories relating to life on the home front back in South Wales.

For more information call 01443 822 666 or email windinghouse@caerphilly.gov.uk.
