Fire crews freed four horses from a stables in Cefn Fforest after an arson attack last night, April 28.
The stables on Waunborfa Road contained a tonne of hay and sawdust, as well as the horses, and were deliberately set alight according to South Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
Two crews from Aberbargoed were called to the blaze at around 10.30pm and put the fire out in just over half an hour.
A Gwent Police spokesperson said inquiries were ongoing and encouraged anyone with information to call 101, quoting crime number 516 28/04/14.
John G T Cook No they didn’t, Actually the crews were from Aberbargoed because Cefn Fforest and Bargoed fire stations closed on the 31st of March and the crews merged at Aberbargoed, I know because I retired from the fire service when they closed my station ‘Bargoed’, you need to do your research before you post
Hi John thanks for your comment. We did state the crews were from Aberbargoed but our original headline could have been read to imply the crews were from Cefn Fforest. We have changed it to avoid further confusion. Thanks for reading.
