Home owners offered £40 architect consultation by charity Shelter Cymru

Home owners can take advantage of an hour-long consultation with an architect in exchange for a donation to charity.

Homelessness charity Shelter Cymru has teamed up with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) for their ‘Architect in the House’ project.

The fundraising scheme has architects donating their time to offer hour-long consultations to home owners about how to improve or adapt their property.

In return, home owners make a suggested donation of £40 to Shelter Cymru in support of the charity’s work with homeless and badly housed families. The closing date for registration is July 3.

Ruth Reed, President of the RIBA, said: “Participating in Architect in the House is an excellent opportunity for people to arrange a consultation with an architect who will have the expertise to advise them how to achieve their home improvement goals while supporting Shelter Cymru’s vital work. With some expert advice, the house of your dreams could be the one you already live in.”

Home owners or architects can register by visiting www.architectinthehouse.org.uk

Participants will be matched with architects in early July and consultations can take place any time up to the end of November.
