Bargoed and Newbridge businesses encouraged to apply for EU building grants

News | | Published: 13:00, Tuesday August 5th, 2014.

Businesses in Newbridge and Bargoed are invited to apply for an EU-backed Building Improvement Grant that can support them in improving and developing their premises.

The Building Improvement Grant (BIG) scheme forms part of the wider town centre regeneration programmes.

Grants may be awarded for improvements that include:

• External building refurbishment such as repairs to, or replacement of windows, doors, shop fronts, roofs, brickwork or signage.

• Internal decoration or refurbishment.

• Landscaping within curtilage of the property.

Financial support of up to 75% of the total works cost is available, with each commercial property eligible for a maximum grant of £50,000.

The grant is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and administered by Caerphilly County Borough Council.

For more information about Building Improvement Grants, or to request an expression of interest form, contact Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Urban Renewal Team on 01443 866 448.

Alternatively email big@caerphilly.gov.uk.

Further details are also available at www.caerphilly.gov.uk/grants.

jimmy heal, kim walker and chic boutique had grants but no one else had them who were promised them in the beginning. This is a disgrace!
