Caerphilly businesses urged to sign up to Choose the High Street at Christmas campaign

News | | Published: 10:00, Wednesday October 22nd, 2014.

Shops across Caerphilly County Borough are being urged to sign up to a council campaign to boost footfall in town centres this Christmas.

The Town Centre Management team at Caerphilly County Borough Council is calling on businesses to take part in its Choose the High Street at Christmas campaign.

Business owners are being invited to submit details of a festive offer or discount in their store to the Town Centre Management team, which will be featured in a special Choose the High Street at Christmas voucher booklet.

Around 40,000 voucher booklets will be distributed across the county borough at libraries, cash offices, tourist attractions and participating stores – to encourage residents and visitors to support local traders in the run-up to Christmas.

Cllr Ken James, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Planning and Sustainable Development said: “I would encourage as many local business owners as possible to get involved and submit a festive offer or discount, so that together we can work to ensure our town centres are diverse, thriving places which are well-supported by residents and visitors to our county borough alike for many years to come.”

Retailers wishing to submit a discount or offer should get in touch with the council before October 24.

The campaign is set to run between December 1 and December 24.
