Rhymney Allotments have been given a cash boost of £5,000 from Caerphilly County Borough Council’s £50,000 Community Improvement Fund.
The grant was used to improve access to the gardens, allowing the disabled, elderly and children to make the most of the facility.
Deputy council leader, Cllr Gerald Jones, said: “Allotment gardening offers a wealth of benefits, including opportunities to exercise, eat more healthily and socialise.
“Rhymney Allotments is exactly the kind of project that the Community Improvement Fund looks to support and it’s great to see the difference this grant has made to the site and the people who use it.”
