Gwent Police issue Dispersal Orders in Lansbury Park and Caerphilly

Gwent Police has issued Dispersal Orders in more than 30 areas of Caerphilly Town Centre and Lansbury Park – putting people at risk of arrest for “hanging around”.

A Gwent Police spokeswoman said the 48 hour orders are in response to complaints of antisocial behaviour and criminal damage.

The orders run from 5pm tonight, December 19, until 5pm on Sunday December 21 and will see police officers disperse groups, with individuals facing arrest if they return.

The areas affected by the Dispersal orders in Lansbury Park are: Atlee Court, Buxton Court, Snowdon Court, Hartshorn Court, Graham Court, Wedgewood Court and Maxton Court and the area known locally as the stretch, a pedestrian walkway that runs through Lansbury Park estate.

In Caerphilly the areas are: Cardiff Road, Bartlett Street, White Street, Market Street, St Martin’s Road, Station Terrace and the bus station , Salop Street, Van Road, Broomfield  Street, Twyn Car Park and Centre, Windsor Road, Penterbane Street, Stockland Street, Bradford Street, Ludlow Street, St Fagan’s Street, Park Lane, Crescent Road,  Claude Road, King Edwards Terrace, Railway Terrace Rhymney Terrace, Castle Court Shopping Centre including all adjoining and unnamed lanes, alleyways, thoroughfares and car parks and all Caerphilly Castle Grounds.

The orders have been made under the Antisocial Behaviour Act.
