Islwyn Credit Union gets cash from Welsh Government’s Communities 2.0

News | | Published: 14:16, Tuesday January 13th, 2015.

A credit union has been awarded funding from the Welsh Government to improve its computer systems.

Islwyn Credit Union has been given £2,425.80 from Communities 2.0, the Welsh Government’s digital inclusion programme.

The support will help Islwyn Community Credit Union to grow by improving its efficiency and customer service.

Communities 2.0 project director Cathryn Marcus said: “Communities 2.0 is delighted to be able to add its support to this timely investment in Islwyn Community Credit Union.

“Credit Unions are community co-operatives that provide their members with responsible and dependable savings and loan services and signpost people away from pay day lenders and door step lenders.”
