A youth ambassador to represent young people on Penyrheol, Trecenydd and Energlyn Community Council has been selected.
Meg Owen is a year 11 student at St Cenydd Community School and will provide a youth perspective to the council before they make decisions.
Ms Owen, of Energlyn, will be in the post for a year.
Councillor Steve Skivens, Chairman of the Community Council said: “We hope this initiative will bring in new ideas, challenges and information to assist the community council in developing policy and projects in our area.
“We value young people’s views and we want to hear what everyone in our community has to say.”
