A wanted criminal who taunted Gwent Police on Facebook, posting “catch me if you can”, has been arrested.

Logan Rhys James, 19, had been on the run for a week after he was released early from an eight month prison sentence for a street knife attack.

Gwent Police issued an appeal to track the teenager down after he breached the terms of his release licence and posted his picture on their Facebook page.

A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “Officers searching for Logan Rhys James, from the Caerphilly area, who breached his licence conditions after being released from prison on February 6 have arrested him.

“The 19-year-old was arrested in Caerphilly at about 5.20pm this evening, Sunday February 15.

“He is currently in police custody.”
