A 26-year-old Caerphilly man has appeared in court this morning charged with murdering a teenager.

Conner Marshall, 18, from Barry, Vale of Glamorgan, was found in a critical condition at Trecco Bay caravan park, Porthcawl, on Sunday March 8.

He had been staying in the caravan park with friends and they spent the evening on Saturday in bars in and around Porthcawl. The group returned to the caravan before midnight when detectives believe Mr Marshall decided to walk to the beach.

At 7am the following morning Mr Marshall was found with multiple injuries to his body and had only limited responsiveness.

He was taken to University Hospital Wales and died four days later.

David James Braddon, of Attlee Court, Lansbury Park, appeared at Bridgend Magistrates’ Court this morning, Monday March 16.

He was remanded in custody and will appear at Cardiff Crown Court on March 30.

South Wales Police said they still want to speak to anyone in Trecco Bay between midnight and 7am on Sunday March 8.

Detective Superintendent Paul Hurley said: “I would like to reassure residents and visitors to Porthcawl and Trecco Bay caravan park that this appears to be an isolated incident on a well-managed site. Parkdean Trecco Bay Management are continuing to work closely with South Wales Police.

“Our thoughts are with Conner’s family and all those affected by this tragic incident.

“This was a brutal attack and I believe the suspect may have shared information with friends, relatives or neighbours.”
