A campaign which aims to get more Caerphilly County Borough residents online has been recognised.

Get Caerphilly Online won the Communities 2.0 Digital Leadership Award for its work.

Launched in 2012, Get Caerphilly Online offers free computer sessions at libraries and was originally funded by the Welsh Government’s Communities 2.0 scheme.

Since its launch, it has supported 4,400 people to use computers and provided valuable work experience to 80 volunteers.

Cathryn Marcus, Project Director for Communities 2.0, said: “Get Caerphilly Online has made a real difference to the digital literacy of many residents in the Caerphilly borough.”
