Nineteen Lewis Girls Comprehensive School pupils have passed a radio broadcasting course.
The Ystrad Mynach school became the first in Caerphilly County Borough to offer a qualification in broadcasting when they created a radio production studio onsite as a result of Welsh Government funding.
After the success and popularity of the course the school now plan to continue to offer the qualification.
Students who undertake the course are responsible for hosting the school’s radio station, which is broadcast to during lunch and break times.
Cllr Rhianon Passmore, Cabinet Member for Education and Lifelong Learning said: “It is fantastic to see the radio station doing so well and it’s great that it allows the pupils studying the radio broadcasting qualification to develop skills that will help them in their future careers. Well done to all involved.”
