A grass fire on Machen mountain is to burn overnight, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service has said.
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to the deliberate blaze at 8.55pm last night, April 19, and tackled the large grass fire.
However, they were called to the mountain again this morning, April 20, after the fire, covering 247 acres, re-started.

Firefighters have spent the day tackling the blaze and and have also been called to grass fires near Abertridwr, Graig-y-Rhacca and Pentwynmawr.
There has been a massive rise in the number of grass fires in recent weeks.
A South Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “There have been 30 grass fire incidents in the Caerphilly area over the weekend, 9am Friday April 17 to 11.59pm Sunday April 19.
“The majority of the fires are deliberate, however, we can’t confirm exact numbers at this point due to reports being finalised.”
Arsonists lit 90 grass fires in Caerphilly County Borough in a six week period up to April 13 and there have been 96 deliberate grass fires in the county borough this month so far.
