Girl released on police bail after Bedwas High School knife attack

A 15-year-old girl has been released on bail after a pupil’s cheek was cut with a knife while at Bedwas High School.

Police were called to the school yesterday, April 29, after reports that a 15-year-old pupil had been attacked with a knife.

A 15-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of assault and has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “Police received a report yesterday morning, Wednesday April 29, at approximately 11am of an incident where a 15-year -old girl had sustained a cut to the cheek.

“She was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital for treatment and has since been released. Officers recovered a knife at the school.

“Officers continue to work closely with the school today.”
