Work has officially begun at the site of the Caerphilly Urdd National Eisteddfod.

The Eisteddfod will be held this year between May 25 and May 30 at Llancaiach Fawr near Nelson.

Around 90,000 visitors are expected to enjoy the festival.

Aled Sion, Director of the Eisteddfod, said: “This is always an exciting time when the site starts to take form and the construction team begin their work.

“It is quite impressive to see a green field transformed in just five weeks into a fully operational site ready to welcome youngsters and families from across Wales.”
