A Caerphilly charity worker has managed to live off just a pound a day to raise money for Save the Children.

Marianne Hoare, 29, who works for Save the Children, took part in its Live Below the Line campaign.

Now in its fifth year the campaign raises funds and awareness for the world’s poorest families who survive on just £1 each day.

Marianne said: “I’m really delighted to be raising funds for such a worthwhile cause. Across the world, Save the Children are delivering life-saving aid; providing clean water, running vaccination programmes and helping to give children an education.

“I know the money I raise during my five days of eating on the poverty line really can make a difference.”
