Bus company Stagecoach freezes fares

News | | Published: 10:09, Wednesday May 20th, 2015.

Bus company Stagecoach has announced it is freezing its fares in South Wales because of the falling cost of fuel.

The price freeze will take effect on all single and return tickets, as well as dayrider, megarider, explorer, flexirider and network rider tickets.

John Gould, Managing Director, Stagecoach in South Wales, said: “These price freezes are a real boost for our customers. Lots of people will benefit from the continued great value fares that we offer, particularly those who use our services most frequently.

We are mindful that the price of fuel has fallen this year and we want to show our gratitude to our loyal customers as well as looking forward to attracting even more people on to our greener, smarter services in the future.”

The cost of fuel dropping should’ve lowered the bus fairs not “freeze” it. They assume this would attract more customers to use their service when the price remains the same as last year.

They want to show their gratitude so much they are going to exploit their customers for even more money instead of passing on the lower costs.

“Greener, smarter service” they must mean that they think we are green and they are smart. I read in the papers that we are in a time of deflation, no sign of that in this announcement.
