A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of racially or religiously aggravated harassment after a shop worker was verbally abused.
The abuse happened at around 3.45pm on Thursday May 14 at Abercarn Food Store, the High Street, in Abercarn.
A 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of racially or religiously aggravated harassment without violence, and was released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Officers are keen to speak to any customers at the store who were present at the time of the incident as they may be able to help with the investigation.
