A burns patient whose doctor inspired her to strive to become a plastic surgeon has wished him well in his retirement, after a 40 year career.
Sidra Afzal, from Fleur-de-Lys, was just five-years-old when surgeon William Dickinson performed life-changing reconstructive surgery to give her a full head of hair, after she was burned in an accident.
Now 13, she returned to the Welsh Centre for Burns and Plastic Surgery at Morriston Hospital in Swansea to bid him a happy retirement.
Her mum, Saba Afzal, said: “I do not have words to say how happy we are and how grateful we are to Mr Dickson . He is Sidra’s inspiration.”
