The Manic Street Preachers are preparing for a homecoming show at Cardiff Castle tomorrow, June 5, with 10,000 fans expected to give them a warm welcome.

The Blackwood band have been on tour celebrating 20 years since their seminal album The Holy Bible was released.

The record was the last to be penned before Richey Edwards disappeared and the band became a threesome.

At the show the Manics will play the album in full, followed by a second set of their hits, likely to include their number one hits The Masses Against The Classes and If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next.

Although sold out the show will be show live on BBC Two and support will be provided by Merthyr rockers Pretty Vicious.

Roads around Cardiff will be closed for the show, with public transport likely to be very busy as One Direction are playing in the city on the same night.

If you’re heading to the gig the last train back to Caerphilly, Bargoed and Rhymney leaves at 10.35pm.

An exclusive interview with Manic Street Preachers’ front man James Dean Bradfield will appear in the printed edition of Caerphilly Observer on June 11.
