Consultation to be held into solar farm planned for Argoed

News | | Published: 11:00, Friday June 5th, 2015.

A solar power farm the size of up to 15 football pitches could be developed near Argoed.

The proposed farm would generate enough power for 980 houses a year and would be located at Penyfan Farm on Manmoel Road.

There will be a public consultation meeting with developers Pearmat Solar 4 Limited on Tuesday June 11, before an application is submitted to Caerphilly County Borough Council.

The meeting is at Newbridge Memo at 6.30pm.

Solar panels would be installed and reach 2.2 metres above the ground, with a two metre high security fence protecting the site.

Anyone unable to attend the meeting can send their comments to TÜV SÜD PMSS, 8 Latimer Walk, Romsey SO51 8LA, or by email to ewa@pmss.com, by Monday June 15.
