Entrants wanted for Caerphilly’s Great Cheese Race ahead of Big Cheese Festival 2015

Registration for entrants to Caerphilly’s Great Cheese Race has opened.

Taking place on the opening Friday evening of the Big Cheese Festival, the race will see teams of four people race around the grounds of Caerphilly Castle carrying a ‘Big Cheese’.

Runners will be under starter’s orders at 6.30pn on Friday July 24.

Adult team members must be aged 16 or over and juniors aged between eight and 15.

All entrants must be fit and well to enter the race.

There will be prizes on offer for teams in the best fancy dress, as well as prizes for race winners. For an entry form call 01443 866390 or email events@caerphilly.gov.uk.

The race marks the official start of Caerphilly’s Big Cheese festival.

The free annual event attracts around 80,000 visitors.
