Taraggan Educational Gardens in Bargoed has been awarded a grant of £3,854.11 from Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Community Improvement Fund.

The garden’s committee will use the grant to help pay for a £20,000 extension project.

The Community Regeneration Fund, Bargoed Town Council and Communities First have also contributed.

Taraggan Educational Gardens is a community project encouraging green fingers with people in the Bargoed area.

The extension will see the garden expand its current plot taking over adjacent land which would have otherwise gone to waste.
