CARER: Aneurin Brown left the Doctor Who Experience to work in a care home

A former events manager is putting his skills of making people feel welcome to great use in his new role in a care home.

Aneurin Brown, 28, from Caerphilly, was working on the Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff while employed as an events manager with the BBC Worldwide Live Events Team when he decided to try something new.

With a background in hotel hospitality, he applied for a role as Hospitality Services Manager of Greenhill Manor care home in Pentrebach, Merthyr Tydfil, in February 2014 and just 18 months after securing the job he joined the ranks of the best in the care industry.

Aneurin has been nominated for the Commitment to Quality in Housekeeping and Hospitality, sponsored by HCC Wales Ltd, in the Wales Care Awards 2015.

The prestigious national awards, run by Care Forum Wales, acknowledge the hard work and exceptional performances of those in the care sector.

As a finalist, Aneurin will now attend a glittering awards ceremony at City Hall in Cardiff on Friday, November 6.

Great, now let’s pay the rank and file a bit more for the very difficult job they do. We might all end up there one day you know?
