Horse dies after collision with transit van in Abertysswg

A horse was killed after it collided with a Ford Transit this morning, Tuesday, December 8.

Gwent Police said they were called at 7.51am with a report of a road traffic collision involving a Ford Transit van and a horse on Mountain Road, Abertysswg.

A spokesperson said the van was damaged and its driver had no injuries. Unfortunately the horse died.

A separate crash on the A472 at Maesycwmmer, at the same time, saw one person taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport.

A Peugeot 206 and a Renault Clio hit each other at the Crown Roundabout at around 7.49am. The passenger of the Peugeot was taken to hospital.
