Families needed across Caerphilly County Borough to support youngsters

News | | Published: 17:00, Monday December 14th, 2015.

Caerphilly County Borough Council is looking for families to support youngsters who have either previously been in foster care or have been homeless.

The council’s 16-Plus Team is recruiting for ‘Supported Lodging Providers’.

The Supported Lodgings Scheme is designed to place young people aged between 16 and 21 in a family home environment.
The young person is usually in an education or training placement and has the support of the council.

To qualify as a ‘Supported Lodging Provider’, the criteria is simple – a spare room in your home and some time to invest in providing a young person with guidance and support whilst teaching them the practical aspects of living independently.

For those who can relate with teenagers and the issues that they face, the paid role is described as an ideal opportunity to make a difference in a young person’s life.

For further information contact Rhiann Iles, Accommodation Officer, 16 Plus Team, Children’s Services on 029 20849815.
