Gwent Police is appealing for witnesses to the serious road traffic collision which occurred at Junction 28 of the M4, Newport, on Monday December 14. Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 4.11am.
Police, fire and ambulance crews attended the collision which involved two vehicles – an Irish registered horsebox and a Renault Scenic. The male driver of the Horsebox, from Ireland, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The family of the deceased are now being supported by specially-trained officers.
Officers investigating the crash are appealing for anyone who may have seen the horsebox travelling along the M4, who passed the location, or witnessed the collision to contact Gwent Police on 101 quoting log 24 14/12/2015.
